From the author of A Man Called Ove, this is the fantastic story of a bank robbery gone wrong turning into a hostage situation no one would believe. Alternating between funny and tragic, the writing is a wonderful modern tongue in cheek. The characters are vibrant and interesting. And there is a great twist that really challenges your assumptions.

More than anything, this book is a character study. We get in depth looks into everyone in the book. Their interactions and inner worlds are so intriguing. The author states at the beginning that this is a story about idiots. Well, the truth is that it's about the inner worlds of normal people, and everyone is an idiot sometimes.

I highly recommend giving this book a read. It's my first book by Fredrik Backman, and I am definitely putting more of his work on my "to read" list.
